Newcastle rocked as Live In The Park saw The Prodigy deliver a high-octane performance that left thousands of fans astounded in the seaside resort’s Donard Park as PLM Promotions delivered the outdoor concert of the year!
Against a stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains revellers danced and partied as Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim Reality took to the stage for an hour and a half of adrenaline-fuelled showmanship.
‘Omen’, ‘Firestarter’, ‘Out of Space’, ‘Breathe’, and ‘Voodoo People’ just some of the iconic tracks performed by the legendary band.
And with thousands of watts of sound, breathtaking lighting effects and countless revellers singing every word of every track Live In The Park was not only magical, breathtaking and historic, but one of the most spectacular and awe-inspiring shows ever witnessed in the country.
It all kicked off when Dubliners Noise Control opened the concert with a 30 minute exhibition of true Irish talent, showing why they have been tipped for the top by some of the biggest acts in the world.
Radio 1’s Zane Lowe took to the stage at 6pm and within seconds had everyone in the site hanging on every beat - he worked the CDJs and crowd to maximum affect, playing everything from electronica to rock while electrifying the atmosphere on the mic.
Derry starlets The Japanese Popstars cut, sliced and looped their way through an hour of cutting-edge beats and basslines that had revellers dancing non-stop.
And Hot Chip followed with a fun-filled DJ set of party tunes and crowd favourites before Canadian DJ/producer Deadmau5 arrived on stage complete with black mau5head!
Mixing his way through a set of self-penned tracks the talismatic spinner sent the crowd crazy with ‘The Reward Is Cheese’, ‘FML’ and ‘Ghosts N Stuff’ all proving massive hits with the diehard Mau5 fans.
But it was without doubt the headline act that stole the show and as Prodigy fans across the country take home memories that will last a lifetime, so Live In The Park will go down in history as one of the greatest music events of the decade.
